New York Recap, Part II: Places, Details & Things I loved

This took me a little longer to finish than I expected. I thought I’d write it all down in one go, but somehow the days kept filling up and honestly, it felt nicer to just live in the memories for a while before turning them into sentences (and collages.. which took forever to put together nicely, by the way).

This time in New York, I actually saw a lot. I went out every single night (some nights I took pictures, some I didn’t..which is rare, haha). Most days started at Butterfield Market or Whole Foods..and ended at Bar Pisellino. Not a bad little routine if you ask me. If you ever find yourself near a Whole Foods, please try the blueberry chia pudding - it’s ridiculously good and sadly, we don’t have it in London quite like this. From Butterfield, I always got the watermelon juice and sushi, which has become my go-to order lately

It’s been about a year now of finally learning how to manage my histamine intolerance and I feel like I’m slowly finding my rhythm with it. I’ve gained so much more life quality back. Before this trip, I avoided chocolate and most sweets for a few weeks (not in a dramatic way, just quietly) and it actually made such a difference. I felt lighter, more balanced, and even fine having an espresso martini (!!), which used to be completely unthinkable.

I don’t want to go too deep into the histamine stuff, but if you’ve ever dealt with it, you know how much it can affect your day-to-day. Little things help more than I thought: skipping sugar, sleeping properly, staying consistent with Pilates, and booking lymphatic drainage here and there when I can. I’m slowly learning what actually supports me and weirdly, that’s been kind of empowering?

So, here we go - a few of my favourite moments and places we went to:

Desert Vintage:

Desert Vintage - vintage heaven, truly

LODI:

Lodi was super lovely, and their tiramisu? Absolute 10/10

BODE:

Bode, just down the same street as Dessert Vintage, was something else, so unique, like stepping into a loft filled with stories. Totally inspired me when it came to furniture and styling

Cafe Zaffri:

Cafe Zaffri at The Twenty Two was gorgeous - really fancy, in the best way!

The Frick Collection:

If you ever want to feel like you’re in a Sofia Coppola movie, The Frick Collection is the place. Just a heads-up, if you’re not a member, you really need to plan ahead. We were lucky to have memberships through work at all the galleries we visited, which made a huge difference: no long waits, no tickets to buy, just pure calm and time to soak it all in

Borgo:

Borgo was so lovely - such a vibe. And I heard the Olsen twins are fans of the place!

National Arts Club:

Went out with friends to the National Arts Club - such a cool spot with a few floors of exhibitions. Really enjoyed the vibe and the art

Cipriani:

Cipriani is a classic - I always order tea there, no matter how warm it is outside

Bar Pisellino:

Bar Pisellino was a recommendation from a friend who’s been living in New York for a while, so I knew it would be good but it was even better than expected!! We went a couple of times. Such a fun vibe, super cool crowd, and even the 1-hour wait didn’t bother us. I’d go back in a heartbeat
